This is one of those vintage pieces that has traveled with me from my childhood. It doesn’t take up too much space, so it survived all the moves. Plus, it is useful. It is a hand-woven brass tea strainer, which is marked “Japan Patent.” I have seen this exact tea strainer dated anywhere from 1920s to 1940s. What I wonder is whether or not my Dad brought it home from Japan when he was in the navy. I believe that would have been mid-50s. I also wonder how healthy it is to be straining tea with brass?
